JOHN AMBULANCE AND NURSING DIVISION

This unit of our college played a significant role in our state, in the year 2015-16. Our nursing team won the Championship in First-Aid Competition organized by Barasat St. John Ambulance Association. Our college division organized an Eye Check-up camp for the cadets and officers. A blood test camp for the nursing cadets was also organized. We organized a one-day medical training camp at PWD bungalow at Phuleswar and a seven-day annual medical training and social service camp was held at Nimtala High School, Ramnagar, Purba Medinipur, from 25.12.12 to 31.12.12. Our cadets and officers participated in the Republic Day, Netaji’s Birthday and Independence Day Celebrations. Again our college cadets attended the camps organised by Howrah Police Commissionerate. Our nursing cadets got appointment as nursing staff in hospitals/nursing homes. Free health check-up twice every week is being run by the college under the auspices of St. John Ambulance & Nursing Division.

NCC UNITS

The college offers a scope for all round development to the students through its N.C.C. wings. The N.C.C. under 31st Bengal B. N. and 2nd Bengal B. N. at present has 160 male and 52 female cadets. Three girls and one boy cadet attended LRDC; Two girl cadets attended NIC, Otty and two more NIC, Darjeeling; One girl cadet participated in NIC, Uttarakhand. A boy cadet attended TSC-IGC, and one girl attended the Nursing Camp. Our cadets are engaged in various social service activities, camps, exchange programmes etc. Some of our cadets have been appointed as officers in Indian Armed Forces, Kolkata and W. B. Police Service. Our N.C.C. Unit annually observes Netaji’s Birth Day, Republic Day, Independence Day in the college. It also observes Anti-Tobacco Day (May 31), Anti-Drugs Day (June 6) N.C.C. Day (Last Sunday of November) and Anti-AIDS Day (December 1). Apart from this, Blood Donation Camp is held every December.

  • Best ANO Award – 2nd Bengal BN, Girls’ Wing
  • National Record – Limca Book of Records (for International Yoga Day, June 21, 2015)
  • Guard of Honour – Our cadets felicitated the Governor of West Bengal during the Durga Puja.
  • Best Contingent Award – 2nd Bengal BN, Girls’ Wing

N S S UNIT

N S S unit of our college has been revived in 2006. A good number of students have got their names enrolled in N.S.S. unit. The unit organises Annual Camps and Health Awarness Programmes in the local areas.
