About the Department

Urdu as a general paper was introduced in 1985 and Mr. Gholam Haider was appointed full time lecturer. In 2012 Urdu Honours was introduced and running smoothly since then. The main task of the department is to develop the mind of Urdu students regarding the language, literature and culture. The department always tried to expose the students to the aesthetics of Urdu literature and language. Seminar symposium and workshop are arranged time to time for the benefit of the students. Extension lectures are also organized to fulfill the thirst of students. Both our faculty and students have been productive and have made important contribution to the department.
