Year of establishment : 1924<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Department of Philosophy is one of the oldest and prestigious department of this college. Initially starting with a few students it has grown to a department of repute. Several eminent Teachers have enriched the department with their wisdom and dedication, amongst whom the names of Late Prof Haripada Bharati, Late Prof Sanjib Ghosh, Prof Dulal Pandey and Prof Phalguni Mukherjee deserve special mention. The department has organized several seminars approved by UGC ,ICPR over the years. A special features of this department is its own well equipped seminar library comprising about more than 200 no of Books on different sub areas of the subjects. The students of this departments belong to both the genders and are mostly from semi urban and rural areas. They have excelled in their respective fields of work after completing graduation from this college and have contributed in different areas of social living.<\/p>\n

2. Student Seminars on 16th<\/sup> Jan urary 201`5 and 22nd<\/sup> December 2015.<\/p>\n

3. Study Tour on 19th<\/sup> February 2015<\/p>\n

4. The Department of Philosophy organized a Parent Teacher meeting with 1st Sem & 3rd Sem students on 30.09.2019.<\/p>\n

5. The Department celebrate World Philosophy Day on 4th December in 2019 , Professor Subir Ranjan Bhattacharya of university of Calcutta and professor Jhuma Chakraborty of Jadavpur University addressed the audience.<\/p>\n
