In terms of the number of students Narasinha Dutt College is the largest college in West Bengal. Every year more than two thousand students are admitted to the 1st year degree courses in the college across its three sections, morning, day and evening. From 2013 the college has gone online with its admission procedure. In 2014, several online add-on features such as retrieval portals, online payment updation, online corrections to application, etc., were introduced. In the 1st two years of online admission only the application phase of the process was online but since 2015 an online process for the counseling phase was also initiated. In this the college was one of the pioneering institutes of the state. In 2017 the college is introducing integrated online payment system that will immensely facilitate payment and minimize human errors related to banking.
